Where to Brunch in Amsterdam
Coming from NYC, I wasn’t expecting much in terms of the brunch scene in Amsterdam. However, I have been pleasantly surprised by the options here in the dam. They have everything you could ever want- great poached eggs (and obviously avo), boozy brunches and even brunch cruises! Here are a few of my favorites:
This place is everything you have wanted in a brunch place, if not more. They have everything you could ever want- pancakes, waffled, great poached eggs, pulled pork, halloumi and so on. They also have great brunch cocktails. Oh and of course, it is very Instagram worthy- therefore if you try and go on the weekend- expect at least an hour and a half wait (they don’t take reservations). Well worth it though- coming from a New Yorker!
2) G’s Brunch
Honestly can’t rave about this place enough. They play great hip-hop music, with 2 locations in the most hip parts of town -Jordaan and De Pijp. They even have a brunch cruise where you have a limited menu and get to cruise around the canals of Amsterdam. If you are visiting for the weekend I HIGHLY recommend. Oh, and the best part is they take reservations! Food is also incredible, you are not living life if you haven’t tried the brunch crack dip to start. The Huevos Pedro is my go to, but the chicken and waffles is also incredible.
Teds offers brunch all day long- do I need to say more? They also have great deals on brunch drinks. Great poached eggs and avocado toast. And like I said, bottomless brunch..no reservations so try and get there early. If not, it is well worth the wait. Located in Oud West it’s the perfect spot for a birthday brunch or just to celebrate life!
This place was made for Instagram- with he beautiful decor, dishes and people-it’s a must if your visiting Amsterdam. With 4 locations you can typically find a table without a hassle. They have an amazing selection of avocado toasts and great capuccinos!
STACH is a local coffee/ food spot, that has the BEST chai latte I have ever had. They also sell really good random snacks, sweets and good convenient store sushi. They have a few STACH cafe’s around that offer a limited, but also delicious menu. If you are around city center and want a quick bite in a cozy atmosphere then I highly recommend this.
I have talked about C&T before being great for coffee/working- but it’s also pretty good for brunch. While I don’t think the food is AMAZING, it’s a cool spot and has a pretty good selection. Be weary- they don’t have reservations and lines are crazy, and they also don’t substitute anything on your dish, so if you are a picky eater then this is not the place for you.
