Union Square Cafe

Union Square Cafe

Cuisine: American

Location: Union Square

Vibe: Classic

Favorites: Duck, Pork Chop

Money: $$$$

If you live in New York City, or have ever lived in New York City then I highly recommend that you read the book Sweetbitter and go eat at Union Square Cafe. It is a quintessential NYC restaurant that's been around for forever. It's the kind of place you think of when someone says "power lunch" with white tableclothes, great martinis/ wine and fantastic food to go with it. It's located in a large multi story venue right off of Union Square East. Danny Meyer's manages to cultivate this unique vibe of a restaurant that feels very NYC. Classic and refined, yet accessible. You can come in a gown or in a t-shirt dress and flip flops, and be treated equally as great. Everything on the menu is great. We got the oysters, polenta and calamari to start with Rabbit and Pork chops for mains. The marshmallow desert is also to die for. I suggest getting as much as you can. Go on a date, go with friends, go with family- just get yourself here at some point.
