Best Ramen in NYC
It should come as no surprise to anyone who is into Ramen that Ippudo is one of the best Ramen spots in NYC. The ramen is pretty straight forward, no bull shit- just like it should be.
There will hands down always be a wait here so don’t go too hangry, and trust me it is worth the wait. The space in East Village is big and usually pretty loud. I would suggest going for the food or a big party, definitely not the best spot for a first date (unless you purposefully want to barely hear them and are a master at eating Ramen and not splashing on yourself). The spicy ramen, miso ramen, and pork buns are a must.
This is a very low key Ramen Spot ideal for a hungover Sunday meal where all you need is a nice big bowl of hot steamy ramen and no one will judge you for- well anything.
Their location in West Village is ideal for college students, if your going to Comedy Cellar or just want a great bowl of Ramen in a fast casual setting. This place is bare-bone inside but the Ramen hits the spot. The Spicy Shio Red is my favorite here, this is a cash only spot so make sure to bring what you need.
While I still have mixed feelings about Ivan Ramen- it is deemed one of the best Ramen spots in NYC by many so I feel obligated to write about it.
It’s a non traditional ramen spot that gained notoriety through the Netflix series Chef’s Table. The ramen itself is good, but it’s not your typical bowl of steaming hot comfort food ramen. Rather you are given the ingredients and mix it in yourself. The ambiance is good, and I would classify this more as a sceny ramen spot. Go just to say you went- and form an opinion of your own.
